The most important stories being told right now are the experiences of those who have been impacted by the outbreak of COVID-19.
Our documentary is about the smallest city in the United States to host a NASCAR raceway, Martinsville, Virginia. Martinsville has been waging a battle for over a year against the economic impact of COVID-19 . With a population of roughly 12,000, the economy in this former manufacturing hub depends on the over 60,000 NASCAR fans who attend the races each year.
Due to COVID-19, the speedway had to drastically reduce its capacity, jeopardizing those who rely on the financial outcome of the races. With a relationship that relies so heavily on the attendance of the races, how will Martinsville survive this devastating loss and not end up like so many other small towns in the United States?
